Wednesday October 6th (We rode a ferry today)

Burlington KOA to Port Townsend
50 miles
We had a real nice short day of travel today going from Burlington thru Mount Vernon to Coupeville where we caught the ferry to Port Townsend our GPS lead us right to the ferry it said we would be there at 11.56 and we knew the ferry departed at 12.00 noon, so we were sweating a bit, hoping to get that ferry and we did. The 1st thing we did or arriving at Port Townsend was to go to the visitor info center and found out a lot of good stuff about this area. Drove to Point Hudson where the campground is right on the beach at Puget Sound, got set up in a real nice campsite looking over the Sound. We can see Mount Baker from our site. We went for a walk around the town, lot of history and historic buildings dating back to early 1900’s. Every other shop in town seems to be a coffee shop or eatery.

As we were walking to Chief Chetzemoka Park we meet Mel polishing up his old fuel pump, it is a clock dial pump. His uncle was a one of the largest Mobil fuel distributor in Washington State and he collected old fuel pumps and this one he had left to Mel.
