Clackamas Campground Portland to Tillamook Bay City RV Park
80 miles
We drove west to the coast today to Tillamook. Check in to the campground then off to look around. Tillamook is famous for its dairy products. We went for a self guided tour through their cheese factory. Tillamook also makes ice cream, and yoghurt and probably a bunch more products.
We then drove for a short loop out to Cape Meares Lighthouse and saw some pretty vast and untamed Pacific Ocean along the Oregon Coast . Went for a short walk to the Octopus Tree. This is a Sitka Spruce that grew a little different than most spruce trees, that’s estimated to be 250 to 300 years old.. We then drove down to Oceanside and walked along the beach. It was nice to see lots of people walking the beach with their dogs and enjoying the sun and the ocean mist.
Good to see that the sun is shining on you again. The Oregon coast looks great, following your trip with great interest to see what is in store for us in the future.
ReplyDeleteHad snow on Mt Tarawera on Monday as a cold front went through, followed by heaps of rain. After a few wonderful summery weeks we are back into winter again!
