Thursday September 30th (Lots of Wild Animals to day)

Grande Cache to Jasper
160 miles
We had success to day, we got the remote tire pressure sensors working, and I guess we tired to hard yesterday. Right at the edge of the town a couple of deer walk across the road in front of us. We went for amazing hike from an unmarked location about 10 miles from Grande Cache, the lady at the visitor center had told about this hike to Muskeg Falls. We walk away from the road for about 20 minutes to this waterfall where the volume and the noise was tremendous. We were standing up high looking down on it, the trees growing close to the cliff were undercut, we didn’t get any closer than 10ft from the edge, it was so frightening hearing the roaring water below, and knowing that to get the right photo would not be the smartest thing one had done. Holly said look across the river and there was this mountain coat, casually walking and grazing along a steep mountain face walking across and avalanche shoot. We were about the same elevation across the river from him, but our side wasn’t any where near as steep. I attempted to take a short video which I will attempt to put in this blog, so you can attempt to experience what we saw, the noise in the background is from the water fall below.  The next wildlife experience we stopped for was a flock of  Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep wondering along the road in Jasper National Park of Canada. All day today we seem to be entering or leaving a Wildlife Refuge or National Park. We also saw about 6 elks wandering around, you are warned everywhere that this is their rutting season and that they are extremely dangerous, and do not approach them. We are camped this evening at Whistlers Campground, without a doubt the largest campground that we have ever seen, another campground with lots of separation between the sites. We found our designated site, set up Cassie and drove back into Jasper, we took our folding bikes of the back the truck and went for about hour bike ride in the early evening before it got dark
