Tuesday October 5th (We crossed the border at Sumas)

Hicks Lake Provincial Campground to Burlington KOA
100 miles
We got up relatively early this morning and drove into Harrison Hot Springs and had a walk around town. We walked about ½ mile to “The Source’ yes it’s called “The Source” where the hot water springs are. From the source’s water is piped to several locations in town, including the hotel that owns/operates the source.
From there we drove to Chilliwack on the outer boundary of Vancouver. We wanted to check a factory that makes fiber glass travel trailers. Escape makes one a couple feet longer than Cassie, with a tandem axle and quite a bit more room.
We stopped in a mall near by and were parked there too long, got back to Chevy and it wouldn’t start as we hadn’t unplugged Cassie from Chevy and she was sucking DC current from Chevy’s battery. It was a short O Dam moment, but was quickly remedy when I got the battery pack out of the bed of the truck and hooked it up to the truck battery and Chevy started instantly. That was a relieve. Our next chore was driving around looking for a post office, they are no where to be found when you are looking for them, after mailing at the post office we headed to the border. Another no problem border crossing at Sumas.
Now we are in Washington State heading south along back roads in a very rural area. We stopped at a roadside stall and bought some free range eggs, fresh corn on the cob and some Asian pears. After awhile we thought we should be looking for a camp for the evening and Holly put a search for a campground into the GPS and the directions took us over some very lightly travel roads to Burlington KOA campground. A very nice campground run by a family that used to live in Alaska. We went for a swim in the heated pool this evening and that was nice.
