Sunday October 10th (Onto Oregon)

Kent KOA Seattle to Clackamas Campground Portland
170 miles
We left Seattle today in the rain and headed for Portland where things started to clear up. We drove on I-5 South most of the way. We had one stop on the Hiway at Gospodors Monument Park. Dominic Gospodor was a friend of Holly’s family and had built this monument along I-5, consisting of three large steel structures. Today would have been Dominic’s 87th birthday; he passed away earlier this month.
We got into Portland and phoned our friend Stan. Stan and I had the same employer for many years. Stan is a full time RV person, and travels with his friend Jane. He has a new young pup Mattie May, a real cute little puppy. We went for a walk along the Clackamas River to the confluence of the Willamette River. Stan shared his thoughts and his experience with us about the best routes and good places to visit, and places to stay while we are traveling in the lower 48
