Friday October 8th (Toll and floating Bridges)

Port Townsend to Kent KOA Seattle
90 miles
We drove into Seattle today, through Tacoma. We drove across Hood Canal on a floating bridge and to cross the Narrows is a Suspension Toll bridge. We had set our GPS for Tacoma as a waypoint then the address of the campground in Kent. Well we followed the instructions perfectly and left I-5 North; looped a block into Tacoma then back onto I-5 North. GPS did exactly what we asked of it, we are starting to figure out that we have to override some of the directions we get from her as the directions.
The battery on Chevy would not respond when we tried starting her at Port Townsend, so we decided it was time to be replaced. The battery was the original and has served us for 11 years, so we certainly got our moneys worth from the battery. Bought a new battery at Costco and installed it in the parking lot.
We then went to visit Holly’s sister Linda and her husband Mark who live in South Seattle. We had dinner and conversation this evening with them, as we hadn’t seen them for a couple of years. As today was mostly wet I didn’t get my camera out to take photos.
